Install Win7 64 OS for NVME SSD(M.2 Socket3 Interface)

This topic show how to install Win7 64 bits OS on Samsung SM951(NVME SSD support M.2 Socket 3 Interface) and Gigabite z170x-ud3 motherboard, also prepare for Mac Install

 

{ 1. Create UEFI Win7 64 Install USB Drive }

{ 2. Use UEFI Install USB Drive install Win7 64 OS }

  1.  insert the Install USB Drive and boot from it.
  2. On the first screen, the select language screen, use the follow method to format install disk. Be careful, need clean and format the install disk, make sure you already backup everything!
    1. Shift + F10 Open Command Line Tool
    2. Type: diskpart
    3. Type: list disk //Show all disk on this machine, should only have install disk and install USB Drive
    4. Type: select disk 0 //0 for install disk, if it's not No.0, just change it.
    5. Type: clean //!! Will remove everything on No.0 disk !!
    6. Type: convert gpt
    7. Type: create partition efi size=200 //Win7 only need 100M EFI partition, but Mac need 200M, in this case we used 200M here, you can use 300M or large. REMEMBER DO NOT FORMAT HERE!!
    8. Type: create partition msr size=128 //Win7 NEED, just add
    9. Type: create partition primary size=40960 //40G Win7 install partition, you can change the size, Win7 64 only need 8G for install
    10. Type: exit
    11. Type: exit
  3. After Command Line Tool exist. Install Win7 to the 40G install partition like normal.
  4.  Because we installed UEFI Win7 64, so you have to use Key do the activation, any software activation will cost BIOS or system error, here is solution<<WIN7(UEFI+GPT) AFTER SOFTWARE ACTIVATED CANNOT ENTRY WIN7 SYSTEM OR USE GIGABYTE BIOS>>

 

{ 3. Win7 System Adjust }

  1. partition and format reset SSD space. Make a 90G NTFS Partition for Mac install partition, use name "El". Suggest to use big than 60G partition for Mac install partition and format to NTFS.
  2. Delete system sleep file, after install Win7 64bits system, will auto create about 20G sleep file in C disk, try delete it to free space.
  3. [Option] Close System Backup
  4. [Option] Close Sleep function
  5. Fixed Time display error in Win7. After install Mac OS X, Win7 will show wrong time, usually hours delay.<<FIXED WIN7 HAVE TIME WRONG AFTER INSTALL MAC OS X>>
